The Maximalist is a new technology magazine at the intersection of code, creativity and freedom.
Our mission is to accelerate self-sustaining open-source collective-action networks that enable freedom for everybody.
We are unabashedly pro human, and believe technology is a tool to enable humanity rather than replace it.
Software, and open-source software is one of the most powerful forces in the world today. It has the ability to change the way billions of people work, communicate and play.
Unfortunately, certain fundamental problems exist with open-source software—like the collective-action problems associated with deciding who is in charge, and how people get rewarded. And poor user experience, education, content and distribution.
The Maximalist here is to solve these problems and more.
We build world-class software, and get it into the hands of the right people.
We find product-market fit for each product, and open-source it under the extremely permissive MIT license.
We build exceptional educational courses and content to help people understand the technology.
And we regularly release new physical products like magazines, merch and more.
Our long-term plan is to bootstrap The Maximalist into a self-sustaining network that enables freedom for everybody.
We're just now taking our first steps, but have big ambitions. We hope you'll join us.
